STORY / GAMEPLAY
You are Stryx, a product of Project Alpha Secure, the most powerful and smartest machine ever invented. Half man, half robot, you are in business and the only one that can stop those wicked Cyborgs. You'll have to work hard by blasting hordes of revolting creatures and rescuing the keys to the Lifeforce. So, Stryx, you better get your jet pack ready for some high level robot stomping through the immensely complex underground world of Dome cities. It's a tough assignment and time is running out. Apart from your normal laser weapon there are loads of smart bombs available that can activated by holding the fire button pressed. The game is pretty challenging since the screen is overcrowded by alien ships of different shapes and capabilities that move in a way you just can't always evade. Also, there are many ground defense systems that shoot in every direction and at the end of each level there is a boss battle with a gigantic spaceship.
GRAPHICS / SOUND
The ZX Spectrum version has detailed graphics whilst the main sprites are badly drawn and the color clash makes its gameplay difficult. More on that, the scrolling is disappointing (but better than the CPC!) This makes the game almost unplayable but still you may progress a little further than stage 1! The sound on the ZX includes the original main menu tune and a few basic sound effects during gameplay (no in-game music).
